Hi Everybody,
Everyone must be as sad as me to see poor Johhny Herbert go. Lucky though he never was, I feel greatly fearful that he'll lose control on one of the faster CART corners and end up only finishing a long career in tragedy. For many years I've watched Johnny struggle in formula one remaining in teams that never did his talent justice only once did he get to win by sheer talent, his other great moment in his career came more by luck than his class. Surely he should play safe, throw in the towel now no matter how tempting more racing might seem in the states it will be really dangerous on faster tracks with his famous misfortune anything can happen especially in unfamiliar cars. Perhaps he could use his knowledge to start his own new team nobody would be a better boss in my opinion, much admired by everyone, with the connections to succeed in this sport a large, successful team will surely be the result. |

Well I agree that Herbert has had some bad luck along his career and maybe he didn't get the chance to show how good he really is. But I think he still has some shells left. I think he'll be able to do a good job in CART....I don't think he'll win the championship....at least not right away but he'll be OK and he'll have something to smile about when he retires. I think he should go to CART.
Don't worry...nothing bad will happen to him |

Johnny sure has had bad luck. Benetton, Stewert and Jaguar and still only three wins. If only he had not had that crash all those years ago in F3000.

Can't make that promise. Every year there are a number of Cart drivers that sit out races because of serious injuries. And yes, most of them happen on ovals.

Well....Jay is right....But it seems that CART officials are FINALLY going to slow down those cars for next year. But I think JH should go. Time is running out on his clock and his last chance for success isn't in F1.

Johnny will do well in CART because he is the kind of pilot CART fans like - not only good behind the wheel, but good in front of the public. I am lookign forward to meeting him and telling him in person how much I have enjoyed watching him race, and cheering him on to new things in CART.
