The Ultima disappeared mid season 2002 and has never raced in ALMS - The Saleen will reportedly re-appear for Mosport.
I'd guess the 7 day gap between races has hurt some teams - certainly Intersport are working against the clock to get a spare car to replace their badly damaged MG Lola |

Its too bad, Trois is getting kinda a raw deal.
Dont know why the Lista team isnt there, they had a strong showing at Sears. Intersport totaled their MG at Sears and couldnt get a new one in time, hence they arent on the list. And the Vipers I think withdrew as well after a bunch of issues out west. So that kinda sucks for the people of Toronto, but I still think it should be a fun race. You'll still have the GT battle, the GTS battle remains, and you will still have the Dyson cars going for overall. That is most of the normal battles anyway, so it should be interesting. |

One thing to note: the totals are off. There are only 4 675s listed, and 5 GTS listed. It should be noted that the Field 675 is not for sure out, depending on whether they can get a lease/loan from the factory for the race. They may be able to repair their own tub in time for Mosport, though.
Don't know what's up with the Vipers, but they barely turned a wheel at Sears. Perhaps they'll go directly to Mosport? edited to say vwpilot, it sucks more for the people of Montreal. Toronto folks will see the cars (and you!) at Mosport. I'm confident that Intersport will have two cars at Mosport. Lista-Doran never had the Canadian races in their plans. Too bad, as they really showed what that car could do last weekend. Last edited by paul-collins; 30 Jul 2003 at 15:16. |

For the meantime I think Jon should co-drive the B2K/10 with Clint...maybe Jon could eek a few tenths out of the car? He is very experienced in it, that's for sure.

I beleive a week's time is not enough to get another MG overseas and track ready. Too bad. During the Sonoma broadcast,l Jon Field was quoted as saying they will be ready for Mosport. If FastJoel is who I think he is, he would be the best source here.
The smaller field could be a blessing in disguise, Three Rivers can get tight. Because of this, I don't think the Dallara would be very effective, long straight type car. I wish some of the Porsches would stay home for this one, they're going to make a mess. As far as LMP goes, at least we've got the front runners. I'm picking #16 again, prodived that Butch doesn't toss it into the tire barriers like O'Connell did last year. I'm gonna mess my pants if the Vettes don't finish 1-2 at this one, maybe a top five overall. |

I propose Pilbeams be permanently banned from professional sportscar racing. How the hell can you build a prototype so bad that it gets passed by 911s?!
Though it might just be the Bucknam team which is completely hopeless. Now how does a team like that get sponsorship while so many others go without? Last edited by Lee Janotta; 3 Aug 2003 at 20:56. |
