the race is going on- one of my faves.
the real story is...after years of struggling and what appeared to be bad driving- John Andretti shows his true racer grit and posts fastest practice time and his former owner and fellow racer Kyle petty was dead last!
does this show that the petty equipment is really just **** poor and andretti was the one suffering that whole time?
It seems to me the Petty enterprise needs a huse revamp of there operations-getting rid of andretti only underlined what the real troubble is-complacency adn really poor machinery and a bad second driver in one Kyle (although he himself suffered much poor man)

I think there are 53 cars attempting to qualify at Indy. This means there is a very big danger of the Petty cars not qualifying for the race. They have been lucky that the lack of competing cars has meant that they usually get in the race despite being spectacularly slow.
