I don't have any problems taking pictures with a 300mm zoom lens. Provided it can blot out fences you are fine. The only place where I've struggled over the years is the bottom end of the straight going down to Copse as it's a bit too close to the track. The rest of the track is fab.
To be honest, I have used the catchfencing as part of the pictures a few times. I like to do the odd "arty" (in my opinion) shot and use the obstructions as part of the picture. I don't have any examples to hand at the moment as I'm misbehaving and posting this at work |

Probably helps if you are 6ft6 tall or have a box to stand on but there are places around Luffield where you can see over the fence. If the viewing platforms are open that will help as well.
It's do-able, not great but do-able. |

...It's not much better with a press pass...the bright sun during the afternoon on the club circuit is a nightmare!

Hi KayBee, I was toying with the idea of going down this Sunday for the MRO meeting.
Snapper Baz, would there be any possibility of me getting signed on? I've been signed on a few times at Oulton Park and I have one ( I know, a bit pathetic) letter of accreditation or would I just get laughed at? Thanks. |

I doubt if you will blag your way through the gestapo on the gates but once in go to signing on-prob' at drivers sign on with your letter and say there are a few local drivers racing (though beware as they may ask you who?)-just try your luck and take a decnt lens with you. Inside of Copse for pan shots late afternoon is good as sun is just perfect or entry into Luffield...forget the rest!
