A. B .C list celebs
Bernie Ecclestone has told the Formula 1 teams that he wants more celebrities at races to help to give Formula 1 a more glamorous image.
Any nominations from you guys or girls who you would like to see attending future races? |

the trouble with celebrities on the grid is they tend to come on the invite of a team...and end up looking stupid in some cheesey baseball cap.

bern's solution to improve f1....
http://www.itv-f1.com/news/news_story/17714
Seems the old f**t thinks more know-nothing-about-racing celebrities is the cure for f1's ills. Call me a cynic but this seems to be the lAST thing f1 needs |

I think Bernie is just trying to help Jordan here. They seem to be the ones who entertain the dodgier celeb |

I'd prefer fans closer to the grid then bloody celebreties who pretend to be interested in F1 for a day.

The woorst aspect of celebs is that the only who come, do it just because of common sponsors with some team (remember Frankie Dettori at Silverstone?), and nothing more, which should appear a little bit humiliating for motorsport itself, shouldn't it?

Get the a manufacturer to supply race prepared road cars with an F1 driver as a co-driver and get all the celebs to have a 5 lap race around the circuit on the sunday morning - just like the old Jackie Chan celeb races at Macau!!! - Edited highlights before the F1 race - TV ratings through the roof!!! Just an Idea.

OK OK no celebs, but I am sure the television viewers love to see the famous folk on the grid getting in the way and looking bewildered talking bo**ox into the microphone. "Is this your 1st time at a G.P?" "Who do you want to win?"
Love every minute of it (4 assorted F1 passes around there neck) |

What, so there will be more nobs sitting in the main straight grandstand with no idea what's going on along with the other 90% of people sitting there?

Get celebrities off the track, nothing is worse than a celebrity being asked about their favourite driver & they don't have a clue who is even in the race.

That's true. They seem normally to go for the best driver and say they've been a lifelong supporter when they have no idea. Let the real fans onto the track, not the people who couldn't give a darn whether the race went ahead or not. I seem to remember the Jordan pit having more "Celebrities" in it than any other. It could be suggested that they should spend some more time on the car than looking after these people.

its the age of the celebrity - look on magazine shelf - they are all celeb spotting mags. People are increasingly obsessed with celebrity and Myabe this is where bernie gets his ideas - (Slavica does appear in 'hello' and 'ok' back pages quite often )
its annoying to us race enthusiasts but think about it - it gets them more coverage in mags, rags etc... and this year ebing an exception, in general the celebs get more attention from the media than the racing itself - shame The celebs go to egt themselves some column inches - its no suprise a struggling team like jordan would invite the likes of Jodie Marsh to the british gp cos she was getting a huge amount of colomn inches at the time(and was £5.50 on celebdaq ) |
