M.Shumacher and Jean Todt buying Ferrari ? Why not?

Michael Shumacher and Jean Todt want to buy the Ferrari Team
with the help of a mysterious partner... (Le cirque du soleil?)

This is the lastest news from Las Vegas.

If it were to happen we would be witnessing the death of the passion the great marque once stood for. Enzo would be turning in his grave.

Can't see FIAT selling of the most famous F1 team in the world, however, i can see Michael taking over at the helm once he retires.

I can't. Can you see Michael sticking around to help some other guy beat the records he's worked to get for himself? Although, perhaps he wants to stick around to stop that from happening...

I think Jean and Mike buying Ferrari is very unlikely.

IIRC, didn't Ford try and buy Ferrari out right (not just the F1 team) and when the bid failed Ford built the GT40 and whipped Ferrari's backside (and everyone else for that matter) at Le Mans.

Ford were close to buying Ferrari in the 1960's, but in the end i think Enzo decided that he wanted more control.

No, but I know enough about him to know that he didn't set up the team / company as a corporate money making entinity intent on winning at any cost .

Agreed... he set up the team/company as a, not as a corporate money making entinity, but a racing team out to win, not just at any cost, but at all cost!

I'd buy some shares in a Schumacher/Todt/Ferrari combo - if it happends and if I could get them.

If is F1 backwards. (thus spaketh Murray the Walker)
