If things stay the same by rally end, I reckon Loeb will be equal first with Burns at the head of the Championship (& with two more tarmac rounds to come who would bet against Seb)

Its strange, that. Panizzi's strongest performances this year so far seem to have been in rallies like Turkey and Greece - gravel rallies.

So if they finished in current order (after stage 10), the championship would look like this (points before San Remo in brackets):

1 LOEB 55 (45)
2 BURNS 55 (55)
3 SAINZ 53 (48)
4 SOLBERG 48 (48)
5 MÄRTIN 45 (37)
6 GRÖNHOLM 44 (38)

Looking ahead, Loeb should be strong on the two remaining tarmac events and I expect Sainz should go well too, with a likely a podium (or win?) in Catalunya. Burns may need a very strong result (a win?) in Rally GB to remain in the fight, if it's not too late by then.

Could we see a Citroën 1-2 in the championship and a Citroën win in the manufacturers championship too?

I can't believe it.... Gronholm out (lost a wheel), Panizzi up to second and Burns still leads the chamionship.

Gilles Panizzi selected intermediate tyres for SS13 rather than slicks (well if you can call them slicks, they still have something resembling tread), chosen by most of the others.

Well my pre-season prediction of Loeb winning the title is looking good. Two tarmac rallies left!

Why does Gronholm have such apalling seasons when defending his crown. And look! Burns is still flukily leading! This is so like the 2001 season it's unreal!

Grönholm almost said it was past it's best, in a TV interview during day two. He was slightly more diplomatic than that, but suggested that while it was still competitive on gravel, others (mainly the Xrara and the Focus) were quicker on tarmac.

Sadly, it appears that Grönholm's championship hopes are now over. I think the gap is just too big now.

It looks like the weather played its part in events. Lets hope Richard can keep on picking up points on the next 2 rounds and clinch the championship with a win on the RAC (or what ever it called these days)

At least Panizzi got some decent points today after a good tyre choice.

Burns has still never won a rally for Peugeot (will he ever????) and leads the championship, something is wrong with the points system.

Look at it this way - if Loeb wins next time out (which I reckon he will...) and Burns still finishes second then Loeb will be the WRC leader due to him having more wins.

I really can't see what half the problem is with Burns - I suppose we can see if it is the car like he says when he gets back in a Scooby next year..
