Does anyone know why they need a new tech man. Has the old one left or just outgrown his knowledge?

I think it was the stewards that made the decison for the meatball flag at Bathurst.

Hmm, well the way it's been explained here the stewards were overuled... whether that was by another steward or the technical director I'm not sure...

Wizzby - no it hasn't been explained that way - please stop trying to twist things around.
Paul Taylor is the current AVESCO Category Technical Manager - he cleared the Skaife car of any problem and was over ruled by the Chief Steward. |

The ad for Technical Manager was around in the motorsport press well before Bathurst anyway.
There is always more money in private enterprise, especially when you have been allowed to look at the best thinking the combined minds in 21 teams have to offer If you look at F1, most of the technical positions are staffed with ex-Brabham people, who spent years interpreting the rules in their racing jobs, then spend many more making sure they are applied correctly |
