Are v8 getting to boring or predictable?

After watching one of the most boring top10 shoot out at Indy, I raise the question are V8 getting to boring or to predictable

TSR,
I agree! Channel 10's coverage wasn't about racing, it was about various sets of mammary glands and rear ends, Bill Woods' talking head and a very very boring race track.

Surfers and Indy might be a great occasion, but it's not the best place for V8Supercars to race. TSR, you may well be right. If Supercars raced at tracks like Surfers on a regular basis, I'd agree with you. Concrete canyons, dinky chicanes, narrow track, boring left - right corners. There again, it was only a week or two ago we had an enthralling race at Bathurst. Still, parity and small points increments makes for processional racing. That, and the thought that there's only a day or two to catch the boat to NZ.

We need a few more Bathursts and a few less Indys.

Congratulations to SBR. They did well today. Russell is always good on tracks like that, and Marcos moved forward enough to help him towards a Ford title. There's still tomorrow. Not that I expect that the guys at the front of the pack will be too ambitious.

The politics behind the scenes is never boring

Here's hoping that SBR doesn't cop the penalty though. (Go Rusty)

why complain about CH 10 coverage, they are only allowed to show the v8's and champ cars and have to fill in with something as it was a six hour telecast, don't forget everyone complains that other races are not live and when they put on the races and qualifying live they have to fill in the time with something.

I did watch a little of it today. Might have seen 4 to 5 laps including half of lap 21 and 22. I don't care if i watch V8 supercars or not. Much rather be on here getting the latest info and rumours. That's where the excitement is in V8 Supercars.

In other words, it's only boring when one bloke keeps winning and everyone complains IE tall poppy syndrome

Personally I don't think it is. I haven't been fussed by Indy since it started, and I think it's just the nature of the race track to be honest. It's only exciting when someone goes into the wall because there's hardly any overtaking to spice it up otherwise...

Where were you during the Bathurst top ten?????

The only reason this one was boring was becuase the pole man was the first car on the track & everyone after him was slower!!! How many times does that happen???

I think CART has lost a lot of intrest since the big names, Andretti, Little Al, Franchitti, Team Morloboro Penske, poor ol Zanardi etc dont compete.

It was compelling viewing those days about 5-8 years back, these guys are Euro/Sth American rookies we dont know!

Only Paul Tracy is the left over from the old days.

Anyone remember??? the day Tracey mowed his CART car through the camping ground at Elkhart Lake, funniest thing when a guy bolted out of his motorhome to see Tracy at the door!!!

Its the V8 i tune in to watch!!!

True Grimace CART was very popular 5/8 years ago (And Murh reckons that CART is the world's best open wheel series, more on that later) But after watching that V8 race yesterday again it was as boring as bats**t as it has being all year bar a couple of races.I think that the China thing that (Aussie Bernie TC) will fall back into his face faster then Murh pole lap at Bathurst. It is good that other cars/teams are winning races this year but it is still very boring, and Ch10 commentary team do not help the problem.

Losing Philip Island was absoutely disgracful, Cochrane is ruling with and iron fist.

He comes back sprouting how he has secured a race in China

but losing that fabulous Philip Island round and NO RACE in

Tasmania is beyond acceptance. How do others feel about it??

Agree there, when was the last time you saw a Ford or Holden driving around the streets of China. Aussie BernieTC is only looking after 1 thing here the money going into his back pocket. Last time I looked this was the Australian v8 touring car series so why not race in every state of Australia then perhaps go into NZ. At the moment the V8 offical are beliving there own BS that they put out the fans in OZ. Tassie is screaming for a race but Aussie Bernie wants more money, Phillip Is is not gatting any faster the cars are after 10 years devlopment and the Prima Donna driver are starting to belive themselves to.

All the signs are there now that V8 Supercars are on their last legs. It seems to be following the exact path CART took; Races overseas and overseas drivers and teams. The loss of tracks like Philip Island,Symonds Plains and Lakeside and possibly Waneroo and Qld Raceway yet to come will harm V8 Supercars. If Mr Cochrane thinks street circuits and overseas events are the way to go then the death of V8 Supercars will be on his head.

V8 on LAST LEGS pls pete don't tease its not nice . AS far as I'm concerned the death of this stuipd area of Aussie Motorsport the better it has been boring since 94/95 . there is no passing on varity it is a waste . and most of our other series have suffered for this and the end of the day only to teams can win HRO and SBR .

IMHO V8 supercars(taxi's) don't let the door hit you on the way out

Wouldn't it be nice for GTP to be the top class in Australian Motorsport. HSV GTS V BA GT V Subaru WRX V Lancer Evo8 V Nissan (maybe 350Z) V Toyota (Corolla GT4?) V VW Golf R32 V Honda (model?) V Alfa GTA V Peugeot 307 V Mazda RX8 V other possible or makes such as MG Or Renault/Nissan. With so many makes and probably hard/close racing i'd be as hard as a fridge door.
