Gene stay at Williams
With all this talk about Wurz and race seats. It is nice to see that another tester has been rewarded. I didn't think this was even up for renewal, but hey good to know.

He deserves a race seat soon! Hope he gets one for 2005, in a top team!

Good one. Marc stepped up and delivered at Monza when it really mattered, on top of thousands of k's testing - exactly what they need.

Its good that Marc is staying as tester, but he only did an OK job at Monza.
He had tested the circuit only a week before and he knows the car, I think he should have been able to push on JPM more in that race. It wasn't a good enough job that weekend, Williams went to Monza with an 8pt lead and left with only a 4pt lead! |

esorniloc, testing and racing is very different. Gené was also blocked by Trulli at the start and that made him lose three places. But nonetheless, a satisfying performance. Or at least Sir Frank and Patrick praised Gené.

Yes, expecting a TEST DRIVER to do it in the race is a bit naive esor.

Mark may get his chance with Williams in 2005 as JPM becomes a free agent.

Well, I think Mark Gene is good driver, and very good test driver. But I don't think that he is good enough to replace Montoya's seat.
