Bored during the break
Hi everyone,
I normally race at castle combe in my formula ford and test at Llandow during the championship break from Jan to March. Although I find Llandow a very cheap day to test I don't find the track demanding and come away with the feeling that I would be better off testing at a track with more twist and turns, bumps etc.. Does anyone know of a good track that will let you test for a resonable price say from Jan to March ? Any ideas on what other fellow racers do in the off season (apart from rebuilding etc) greatly appreciated Thanks Tiptop |

Have a look at Anglesey, it's a nice circuit for this and seem to run most of the time. They are usually very flexible about arrangements as well. Hope it isn't too far for you. (If you do want to arrange something let people in the NW know as you might get a few joining in.)

Mallory Park is cheap as chippies @ £80 for a Wednesday morning session, it has twists, turns, bumps, ups, downs fast and slow corners.
In the winter I tend to talk to the friends I have ignored during the racing season! Whilst cathing up on the college work I didn't do during the season, and lie-in on Sundays! |

Bookatrack.com do a lot of days at Anglesey over the winter, and single seaters are allowed. Circuit News is the publication to find out what test/trackday are going on.
Why not enter the Stowe races at the end of November (see other post)? |

Try the Plum Pudding Meeting at Mallory on Boxing Day - see thread in Marshal's forum.

In the winter - I don't hibernate, like most of you lot. I jump into the rally car and go tree and ditch dodging. Also Trials are plentiful and good ultra cheap fun. Winter is for rallying/Trials. I don't understand why people restrict them selves to one discipline, this year I've done 6 different kind of events Rallies, Trals, racing etc...- my record is 8.
Rather than think about testing - lck up the vee and go down the woods! |

I agree with Mike - Anglesey is a great driver track. 5th Gear use it quite a lot.
MikeM has had a good view of the circuit when he rolled this year.... sorry to remind you Mike!!! |
