So they have 12 drivers competing for 1 drive? Seems a bit excessive, and shows the extend of resources being poured into the works Alfa effort. Perhaps some of the guys will get chances in other Alfa teams, or might look to the BTCC?

Out of the ones I know of, I think Minassian might be the best bet. When he's in the right situation, with the right team, he can do a great job, as his F3000 title push and ASCAR success prove.

So who will drive for Autodelta next season?
- Larini
- Tarquini
- Colciago
- One of the 12 drivers?

According to his website Toni Vilander tested a Formula Renault V6 last Thursday.

It has been rumoured before that Alfa will run 3 works car through Autodelta, probably with Tarquini and Larini and 1 other. And another team will run works Alfas (either Scuderia Bigazzi or Clever Cats).

I say go with Bernoldi...he's the best of the bunch! He deserves a decent drive in F1, too if you ask me.

Bartyan is the guy who I caught and passed quite easily in the 2litre Clios at Estoril... just before being punted into oblivion (not by Bartyan, he'd gone off at the first corner trying to get back past me). Strange that he's got the call in front of me ;-) Maybe I need an Italian passport... Cheers Riccardo Pearsoni

I'd like to see either Minassion or Cochet get the seat, they're both drivers I like.

Think we might see satellite Alfa teams from outside Italy... anyone seen any times for how the boys did? Would love to see Minassian and Rangoni get drives, both really nice guys and quality drivers.

Rangoni is a star! I d be glad for him if he gets the drive because he never had the money to get to the level he belonged. Italian F3 champ, unbeatable in V6s, he really deserves a factory 156.

PS Rick do you know anything about the satelite teams? I know of 6 cars, all in Italian teams

He does, good guy, always happy to help us with the set-up on our V6's. Sadly disappointing on the only time I saw him in anything else though (911 GT3 in the FIA GT's) so maybe his driving technique is just too specialised. That's why I'd love to see how his times compare.

He got a late drive at one of the rounds in 2002, Jarama I think with Autoland Sport and Camathias.

They didn't publish the times because the track conditions were changing all the time from wet to almost dry so it wouldn't have been fair with the drivers.Btw the interview I've just read with Tarso Marques on a Brazilian site would suggest that he was very much on pace.Anyway Monica Sipsz said that there are 2 out of the 12 who are capable of getting a seat for 2004 and I'm guessing that one of those two might be Brazilian.Because the series lacks a Brazilian driver and because that .BR trio that took part in the test are brilliant.
