Whats the go ?
When I first started posting on this site it was because there was genuine questions and answers re Australian motorsport. Over the last few months it seems to have become a Holden Ford posting site. Therefore here's a listing of some of my questions regarding Australian Motorsport in general
How is the AAA or AASA going ? How are the clubs for example HQ , trucks ect going with fixture for 2004 and has all the CAMS AAA fighting affected them or helped them ? Do you think category management is a good thing or do you think the categories should be controlled by an association of drivers ect interested in the sport rather than the money. How are the Historics going after the AAA event and has it affected them ? Are there any categories out there that need help ? The list can go on but please lets start looking beyond Holden Ford and make this a great place to visit again Hybrid Guy Wilson - Hybrid Motor Sports |

Unfortunately, Hybrid, the "opium of the masses" has infected even the hallowed electronic halls of ten-tenths.
The great lie perpetrated by the Great Satan from the North is everywhere. |

This topic is for "Australasian Touring Car Series (i.e.V8's) so what do you expect to read here ???? Perhaps your post and viewing would best be placed in National and Club racing where you won't have to "put up with" V8 chat.

I know it's the Australian Touring Car Series however I thought that might have been just a name for the forum signifying that it was for Australian racing info and discussion. Its one of the things I would like to know - if this forum is just for V'8s
then I'll go away |

No way, this forum isn't just for V8s, you can post whatever you like about Aussie racing here. If you only like V8 stuff, then don't read whatever and let those who are interested post on it...
AAA? Good I suppose, although their CEO left the other day. Trucks etc? Does anyone really know what they are up to? I know that there has been nothing scheduled in QLD for next year, but that probably means zippo. I don't think the CAMS/AAA biffo would affect them coming up with a calendar etc |

Crash Test
Thanks for clearing the air as to what this forum is about. I have been attending some of the AAA meetings and will post news as I hear it. And I will start to post questions on other topics regarding Australian Motorsport Regards |

I would just like to clarify that this forum is for all types of motorsport but it has various topics. This one happens to be for V8's not Historics or Clubsport. No offence meant, i was just trying to help you....... mile:

The naming of this forum is, IMHO, totally misleading - ten-tenths knocked back a request 3 years ago for a generalised Australian Motor Sport Forum saying this one would be sufficient.
Personally I believe the words Touring Cars should be removed from the forum name and it be simply called 'Australian Motor Sport' - less ambiguous. And why shouldn't Australian historic or clubsport be mentioned in here? |

I couldn't care less what is posted in here, but it seems a little odd to be miffed at the amount of Ford vs Holden chat in a Forum Topic called Australasian Touring Cars so I tried to point him in the right direction....

I wasn't miffed and I don't know how you came to that conclusion.
Here is my opening statement When I first started posting on this site it was because there was genuine questions and answers re Australian motorsport. Over the last few months it seems to have become a Holden Ford posting site. Therefore here's a listing of some of my questions regarding Australian Motorsport in general. If thats miffed you would hate to see me when I'm cranky. |

You will find that this being a UK based forum the national and club racing would be considered for the UK.
This forum is named Australasian not Australian. |

I believe the creators of this site envisage this particular forum covering all forms of Touring Car racing in Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

Didn't we part-cover this in the Japanese Touring car thread a few weeks back. It is fine to talk about anything to do with Southern Hemisphere motorsport.
I think the bigger mix of categories rather than just V8Supercars talked about in this part of the forum the better it is. |

Hmmmm, why not split the whole Australasian Racing Forum in two? One Forum for the V8's, and another for all other Regional motorsport?

I personally would like to see a seperate forums for V8's and other Aus motorsport. At least that way we could post a topic without coping the red v's blue aggro. If, for example, someone posted a question about Australian Formula Vee on this forum, the replies would be along the lines of
"who cares", "they don't have V8's" etc etc The point here is that there is a need to separate V8's from other Aus motor racing |

I agree with you, niloc from Bungendore. There are currently 25 forums (forii?) on 10tenths, and I can see a good reason for at least a second forum for Australasian racing. That's easy for us to say when we aren't hosting this site, but maybe we can at least ask those who do.

I'd like to see discussion of all Australian motorsport in this forum. At one stage there was an interesting Procar thread going over in Sports Car and GT racing, which although that made a certain amount of sense, it was inconvientent.
Also, think of it as a public duty to motorsport in general, by exposing those who might think it all begins and ends with a V8 to a range of other categories (and dare I say it, marques). |

I agree with you however I don't think it can happen.
I think I will just post to here and the V8 people can just ignore the threads if they wish. |

The title and description of his forum was changed when the site was face lifted but all Australasian discussion be it tin top or open wheeler has been going on here since I joined.
There have been a number of Australian sites for discussing V8's so really we should feel privileged that a UK site should grant us this little corner for us to play in. |

If you want to only hear about V8's encourage TC to have a forum on his V8Supercar site. Best of luck with your endeavours though.
