Sponsorship?
Has anyone here been successful in finding sponsorship?
If so, how did you go about getting it? How much did you give out to your partners and how much did you recieve? |

Geez, you want me to write you a book? Actually someone did and it's very good- "Sponsorship and the World of Motor Racing" by Guy Edwards. It's a damn good book that will tell any marketing newbie just about anything you would want to know about motorsports sponsorship. It cost about 200 US$ when it came out years ago, but if you can find a copy it's worth every penny. In fact if my house was on fire and I could only take one thing, I'd take this book.

Got one sponsor, The Carron Fish Bar, voted the UK's top Young Fish Frier of the Year in both 2002 and 2003.

We sent Mum down the town to get us some fish suppers, and while she was being served she just happened to mention our triumph to the shop owner. He had seen an article which we had placed in the local newspaper after I finished 6th in the previous year's Scottish Champs, and upon hearing of our success he became interested. I'm setting up a website soon which will display my career achievements and give extra coverage for my sponsors such as links to their sites. Also got decals on the side of the trailer, and considering some on the sidepods of the kart as well. Quote:
