According to Autorace.com Telefonica have announced their withdrawal from F1 sponsorship. Where does this leave Minardi and/or Prost and/or Gene and/or Alonso?

Can't blame them. To sponsor a poor team is worst than not to sponsor any team. But the worrying scenario is looming. In few years' time, small budgeted teams like Prost, Minardi and Arrow (and maybe Sauber) will be forced out of F1, and no new teams can afford to enter the sports.

From the BBC:
The Italian Minardi Formula One team has been bought by a South American television company.
The Argentinian cable network PSN, which is a sponsor of Minardi this year, has bought out chief shareholder Gabriele Rumi's 68.68% shareholding.... PSN has made no comment on its involvement, but it is certain to want to use Minardi as a vehicle to boost its international brand image.
It is therefore likely to be keen to make the team more competitive, which will require an injection of funds.

Well at they managed to save one outta three sinking ships...
