Your Le Mans dream teams
I had this idea in another thread about my Le Mans dream team which would be an Oreca Panoz LMP-01 driven by
Cor Euser - Johnny Herbert - Jan Magnussen Because Oreca could really make a Panoz go fast and the drivers are also very rapid. Euser - successful in a Marcos LM600, Herbert - proved his speed in the ALMS last year, Magnussen - we all know he's a great driver and has experience of a Panoz. What would be your Le Mans dream teams, and why if there is a reason? |

Courage Evo + Judd + Bourdais, Lagorce... if the Courage is able to match the Audis !
If not : 91' Mazda (yes I know, it's old, but I like it) + Kristensen, Herbert, Magnussen. I'm really dreaming here ! I'd like to see a Panoz at the top, though... |

Is this intended to be current cars and drivers?
Presumably not if we're talking Panoz....... Toyota GT-One with Herbert, McNish and Blundell. (Although I'd probably accept Tom Kristensen as a substitute for any of them if I was running the team.........). |

Aston Martin 2005 (whatever category): Brundle/Blundell, Herbert, McNish. End of discussion.

If I were entering a car for this year's Le Mans race it would be a privateer Bentley Speed 8 with Stefan Johansson, Tom Kristensen and J.J. Lehto as pilots.

After thinking about any car and any driver, I'd love to see Hans-Joachim Stuck, Jochen Mass and Jacky Ickx in a Sauber C-9.

Now. Bentley, Lehto, Ortelli, Kristensen.
Ever. So hard. 917. XJR9. D-Type. 250GTO, GT-One. Crickey. Its too hard, but any team would have to include Siffert, Rodriguez. |

I had a second thought. Since this is best ever, why not run the Toyota Eagle MK3 at Le Mans with AAR. That car would have been awesome on the Le Mans ciruit. Drivers would be Dan Gurney, Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt.
Now that's a dream! Last edited by jhansen; 13 Jan 2004 at 03:16. |
