Autosport International Absentees

I was suprised that the HSCC didn't have an official presence at the show..or did I miss it?

I didn't see it - very little on Club racing at all, besides the 750MC and BRSCC stands.

EERC were tucked away on a side wall near the Coys stand

I did see EERC but they were a bit busy when I went past - did the Nurgburgring logo on the stand mean they are competing in the 24-Hours there - any reasonably priced drives going?

The EERC runs regulations not too dissimilar to the Nurburgring 24hrs, so several of there competitors made the trip over. James Tucker was proudly posting that EERC entrants were leading several classes at one stage.

Neither did the BARC who I believe felt that the cost was not reflected in the volume of business done.

Can anybody enlighten us as to how pricey it was to have a stand?

A big stand like BARC's would have been in the tens of thousands of pounds - I'm disappointed not to see them there, but you can see why they don't go. Little stands are a few grand I believe.

Not Thread Hi-Jacking but....

I went on the Friday and was pretty dissapointed...Thought the whole things was a bit flat, the maps in the guides were next to useless so spent ages wandering (Really should have a navigator for these Southern events) and generally there was a lack of atmosphere.

Maybe it was me but......

I think a lot of the Historic/Classic people have plumped for the Historic show at Stoneleigh instead

Paul Sands,

Not sure about costs at the Historic show, but i would imagine that scantily clad females would not be the norm there!

I've read the pr stuff and it looks like there'll be quite a lot else there though!
