"The Times" TV guide from Saturday says that this program shows how badly he treated his drivers, and that he comes accross as a pretty horrible guy.
After reading that, I am looking forward to seeing it! I'm sure it will be interesting to see his approach, and compare it the the current F1 enviroment. |

He surely had a not-so-motherly personality; nevertheless he made his outfit a myth, thus he must be respected.
After al nobody was pointed a gun to his head and ordered "go to Ferrari". Ferrari was every driver's top ambition, already when Enzo was alive, there must be a reason. Last edited by climb; 23 Jan 2004 at 11:02. |

New drivers said they were brought in to see him as if they meeting the Pope or Royalty...told to call him "Engineer Ferrari"...all he would reply was..."How much do you want!"
Hope they make a good balanced prog...not a modern bashing job! |

In any event, we in Scotland won't be able to see the programme, as we're treated to bloody 'Scotland's Empire'. <grumble grumble>

Hasn't, nor has it ever had. The programme is dreary nationalistic rubbish. IMHO.

Ah Enzo, my hero! And sadly, I won't get to watch it...
Mario Andretti was in awe of the man, and has said that he was treated very well whenever the two met. Enzo offered Mario the world, to have him come and drive for Ferrari. |

You might not like their angle then 'GP Racer'!...my TV guide says..."A profile of the legendary Enzo Ferrari the man responsible for creating a sport, an industry and an abiding myth (that word again! 'Smokey') What emerges from this documentary is not what a remarkable man lurked behind those dark glasses - a brilliant organiser with an uncompromising vision, and so forth - but what a thoroughly unpleasant person he was. If he had been a politician, says a friend, Machiavelli would have been his servant. He was cunning, manipulative, ruthless and demanding; he treated his drivers like machines, and the Vatican even accused him of behaving like the god Saturn, who consumed his own children" ...Sounds like the good ole British media are gunna ripp him to shreads!

God, they wouldn't do that, would they Rennen!
It sounds like a wee bit of jealousy to me. Maybe without Ferrari around, Aston Martin and Jaguar could have been at the top of the super-car heap! |

i gave in, i stayed in and drunk there while watching it.
Search for the perfect driver, tough one, i really wonder how he would've got on with TGF. I like the way he made the pope visit him, in a Ferrari. |
