There is no way the works teams would allow their latest cars to be beaten by last years models. Accidents etc may result in old cars beating new but it will be the exception rather than the rule.

Having said that I can see last years Mercedes troubling the new Opels - I don't think Opel invest anywhere near the same amount in R&D as Mercedes or Audi.

Look at the last few DTM seasons. The year old cars have always been slower and I can't see it changing this year. I agree with BertMk2, i can also see the CLK coupes challenging the Opels if they don't get their act together!
