British F3 regs

Had anyone got a copy of the British F3 Regulations for 2004?

It's usually in the BRDC race dept pages, but ain't there, and our friend Stephane Ratel doesn't seem to have managed to pull a website together for F3/GT yet - so much for improving the running of the sport, eh?

Hum.

Mathias. The F3 teams will have them, If you're a member of a team or the organisation you should have a copy, if not, why would you want a set? They're not the easiest things to read.

Is it still the official media/organisation company for F3? Is there going to be an F3-GT website?

I can read quite long words, you know! Regulations and policies is my profession.

It's just out of interest, really. Often no-one explains the rules of F3 (it's not like F1 when James bleeding Allen goes on and on and on about the tiniest details of the tyre regs all the flipping time), but I found the 2003 regs invaluable in understanding why some races got stopped early and all that kind of thing.

Plus, there's a question about qualifying that's been bugging me, cos the published standard weekend timetable only has one F3 quali session on the Saturday, which would be a change from last year, and I thought it might just be an error.

Plus, I'm a bit of an anorak.

No one knows! I've heard that the new set-up are going to use the old F3-GT URL, but with less than a month to go, they obviously haven't been bothered yet. It's no wonder no-one outside these hallowed electronic walls gives a flying stuff about F3!

It's not that they haven't been bothered. As I understand it the BRDC own that address and they aren't letting go.

No, The BRDC own the name to the British GT. The SRO are the organiser/promoter.

I would expect so, but it really needs to be better than the last one.

We're kind of on the edge of the media over here at the website-that-cannot-be-named..., so we don't actually know anything about it!

Good tip about contacting FOTA though.

Where/why was it mentioned in Autosport?!

Fota's website's not that great either to be honest. Still has last year's stuff on it, with less than a month till kick off.

In the section near the letters it gets a mention for his build your own F3 driver bit! Good to see the F3 sites getting a mention and the programme is great fun to use!

FOTA website has always been rubbish I'm afraid as was the F3-GT one that looks like it will never re-appear! Would be the best bet to email FOTA though as Jeremy Lords a nice bloke!

Cheers Gaz - we're over the moon here!!!

It's at the bottom of page 15, under the heading "John Travolta to race in F3?"

Not that I'm promoting my website, Bella!!!
