I haven't any biographical details I'm afraid, but as far as race entries and results, my database records:
Adolf Rosenberger 1926 German GP retired (Mercedes 1924 GP car) 1927 Eifelrennen 2nd (Mercedes S) 1927 German GP retired (Mercedes Benz SSK) 1928 German GP 5th (Mercedes Benz SSK shared with Georg Kimpel) 1929 German GP 6th (Mercedes Benz SSK shared with Willi Rosenstern) also an August Rosenberger took part in the 1929 Italian GP - some connection maybe? Nothing on von Oertzen though. |

Hi.
I'm sorry I don't have any information or help for you - but I too am looking for some information (actually, a picture) of the winners of the 1934 Bournemouth RAC Rally. Can YOU help ME? I haven't as yet found one - although I DID meet a very nice chap from the VSCC who informed me of their extensive library and archives, which I believe, if you asked, you could go and peruse? (NB. Although they formed in 1934 - and their interest is primarily pre-1930's, I think their library covers a wider range of information...) Smiles, Becc http://www.wahwahwah.co.uk/1934 |

Adolf Rosenberger was a successful businessman who mainly raced Mercedes and Benz cars in the 1920s. His successes and records included wins at Avus, Stuttgart Solitude in 1924 and 1925, the Kasseler Herkules Hillclimb and the Klausenpassrennen. At the 1926 German GrandPrix Adolf Rosenberger was involved in one of the numerous accidents in treacherous conditions. He survived a crash into a marshals hut, but the death of three people had Berlin’s Avus track closed down for racing, for decades.
In 1931 he founded the Porsche GmbH together with Ferdinand Porsche and Dr. Anton Piëch(Rosenberger became porsche's business manager). He was also instrumental in the creation of the Auto Union concern. But the turmoils of WW2 forced him into exile. He became an US-citizen under the name of Alan Arthur Robert and passed away in California in 1967. Born: 8th of April 1900 in Pforzheim, Germany. Died: 6th of December in California, USA, aged 67. Wikipedia Also found this pdf file, on go get papers websearch, pages of interest would be page 5 & 9. Hope this helps. |
