Finnish super tourers

Here's a link for a page, which contains some pics of Finnish Super 2000 contestants. Not much cars, yet, only 9 super tourers are in the series, rest of the field being older production cup cars.

Audi is from Sweden, Seat being last years car of Michel Nykjaer from Danish series, Honda is upgraded in Finland, Flamed BMW came from Sweden, also.

Other entrants in the series is Estonian-made VW Golf Mk 4, driven by Estonian driver Indek Sepp, former Primera of Tommy Rustad and then some upgraded Finnish production cars.

How many cars are totally racing?

Be happy with this grid, in Holland there isn't a touring car championship.

This championship seems to be very cool.

The cars are beautiful, they must be rather fast, and this offers a nice change from the sport 2000 previous seasons series.

Are the drivers and the teams good ? Is there an important media presence ?

And i thought there was a touring car series in Netherlands.

That's Johnny's old BTCC Vectra. No way is he driving that round the Netherlands now.

(Don't tell Triple Eight you've got this picture, or they'll come and get you!)

There was a Dutch Touring Car Championship (DTCC) but there was little interest from manufacturers (only Renault and BMW were true supporters) and privateers so it was canceled 2 years ago.

So now we have the ETCC, German DTC series, Nordic(??), Finnish, Swedish and BTCC now allowing or using S2000 rules!

I never knew tobacco advertising was still allowed in Europe or touring cars? I thought most organizers now ban tobacco advertising? I'm still beside myself-while tobacco is bad, they do heavily suppport motorsports, which is good?

I think tabacco advertising will be banned in Holland in 2005 or 2006. There are already a lott of European countries in which tabacco advertising is banned.
