newbie to Nurburgring -- best places to watch?
Hi there,
We're leaving home this Saturday morning to visit the LMES race at the Nurburgring. I've been there once before to watch Formula (first and last time) one but that was years ago. As the race will be held Saturday afternoon we do not have much time to explore the circuit and find the best places to make some great photo's for the site. So fellow Nurburgring could you please tell me about; -the best (photography-) spots around the track? (NO accreditaion) -Can you walk around the track? -Do you have a preffered area to park your car? Any info will be greatly appreciated! |

We went to the F1 last year, with just general admission. No need to go to the grandstands, we were on the grassy slopes on the inside of the 'back straight' - can't remember names of corners and such, but we could see from right hander at the top of the hill, all the way down through a kink at the bottom (fastest point on the circuit) up to the chicane (slowest point!), and towards the entry to Coca-Cola at the end of the lap... superb viewing, and excellent facilities!!

Thanks Garcon, how are the fences? Can you avoid them at the places you descibe? And do you perhaps have some images online?

No images I'm afraid. The hill's fairly high, so fences don't affect the view.

In terms of seeing action, the first few corners of the circuit generally offer most of the excitement.

Thanks guys!
I found a fairly usable picture here Kicking-back, I presume you mean the first few corners after start and finish so the "Castrol-S" to the "Dunlop corner" I presume. And Garcon I guess you mean the area with grandstands behind those trucks in the paddock overseeing the area from "ITT bogen" till the entry of the "Coca-Cola kurve"? |
