Yoong for WPS in 05?

Depending on how you read this ARTICLE it seems to me that AY will be WPSing for the series next year full time.

I thought David Besnard was on a long term deal there, certainly with the activities of earlier in the season where DB was given the nod to run the sole franchise, it suggests he is the favoured son.....

Depending how you read the article, its as if the driver to be replaced will be punted sometime this year, not next... although words are funny things.....

Mark may have a contract for next year, but there are two factors always at play whenever anyone says that.
1. "A contract", yes but with whom?
2. Contracts can be broken.

I don't really know GTR, but as far as i know both drivers have contracts for next year, with WPS. I think Mark was on a 2 year contract but don't know about David's.

With a Course Car and Safety Car being driven by unknowns and lets face it the WPS Safety Car has lead how many laps and not won yet! Maybe in the hands of Yoong the Safety Car can reverse its fortunes.

Imagine if you will a contract that specifies that a person is employed for an organisation to be at the beck and call of that organisation for promotional opportunities, and for any motorsport meeting a sponsor may see fit.....

.... while not strictly speaking guaranteeing a full season's main series ride....

Anybody notice on RPM Billy Woods confirming that Mr Yoong had agreed to terms on a driving deal with WPS in 2005?

So which of the current 2 will go?? Or are they expanding to more than 2 cars?

I can only repeat what the doyen of Team Seriously brings to us live in our lounge rooms each week.

I am sure there is a lot of interest in Mr Yoong, but perhaps WPS has a signature on a piece of paper, or at least is very close to it.

Given the enormous swell of interest out of the China round, they would be nuts not to get him signed up pretty quickly I would think!

It would seem likely, though we NZers are not privileged enough to see RPM, that Billy Woods has not had the whole Yoong story.

I have been asked not to name names, but there is more than one team interested in Alex Yoong. The WPS press release it seems, is by no means spelling out a done deal.

Factions of the media seem to think otherwise. Good luck to them.
