windscreen sponsoring
On the etcc champ everycar has LG at the top of its windscreen
I was wondering if they should do that in the btcc Alan should get one big sponsor to go on each car giving each team money for it to help situations |

Nice idea - now go and find a company that's willing to stump up that much money, and I'm sure Alan will sort out the windscreen strips.
My point is - he's probably tried, or still trying to secure better sponsorship for the championship, but in this country, with the current financial climate, it's pretty difficult. |

There have been such deals before, and may be again, but as Chris says it's not as easy as just deciding to do it.

Well, aren't Green Flag the 'title' sponsor of the BTCC? Why don't they get rid of their ad's which are around the track, in the line of view so you cannot see the cars, and put them on the windscreen (not the boards, but the Green Flag logo's) im sure that would be better value for money!

I suspect Green Flag are more than happy with trackside signing over on-car decals. The trackside signs not only appear on the BTCC TV coverage but also coverage of every support race.

Indeed.
And Green Flag also get their logo on the headlights, roof, and sides of each car. I think it is much better this way. Teams would find it far harder to attract sponsors if the championship sponsors took all the best positions on the car. |

the guy that manages the Green Flag sponsorship has just started a business making stickers for the rear window that can put a graphic covering the window and yet still be see through from the inside. It surprises me that he hasnt arranged this for the Green Flag sponsorship.

As for the sunstrips, I have heard of a figure of £4000 per weekend to have your company's name on a teams cars.
£40,000 a year, fair whack of a budget that'd be gone instantly. |
