Lydden, 11th September
Can anyone tell me who to get in touch with about the BARC meeting on 11th September? I'm due to marshal there but I'll be at Goodwood from Thursday next week and I wont be home between the two meetings. If my passes dont arrive before I leave who do I need to get in touch with?

To be honest you will be OK if you turn up at the gate in probans. Lydden is very laid back about these things.

You could contact Paul Philips. There is hopefully going to be a larger than average Saturday crowd, mainly because of the short circuit content. This meeting will also feature the final round of the stock hatch vs stock rods challenge (currently both teams are level on points), Have a look on www.stockcar.co.uk or www.shortcircuitmag.com

Oi!
I'd really hoped to get back in orange for this event - even if it was a one off for me this year. But the Law of Sod has struck and I may be reduced to a spectator role. I'm surprised no mention has been made of the banger racing that is on the bill for the day? |

The stock rods and stock hatches have been told to behave themselves.
Marshals will have to sign on twice if they want to do both parts of the meeting (i.e MSA and ORC). Of course you can just do one part, but everyone is welcome at the BBQ. |

Oh I wish I could be there that day at the friendliest little circuit in England.
Instead, I have to work at my pay job for twelve hours playing Homer Simpson |

May I publicly say a "thank you" for the comment that Lydden is "the friendliest little circuit in England" - we do our best with the basic facilities but we like to think it is the camaraderie that makes the place. |

Good news is the races in the morning are filling up: 35 MGs, 20 sports/saloons, 12 (could do better) single seaters. In the afternoon: 20 for the stock rod vs stock hatch challenge, 23 RDC hot rods, 28 super rods, 26 super saloons (including a V8 hearse), 15 lightning rods/outlaw hot rods. Rumour has it a TV crew will be attending....wash those overalls now, comb hair etc!!!!!

Good news. Despite the karts having to withdraw due to a clashing fixture, we have arranged for a demonstration from two Late Model Nascar type cars.....now I wonder what George Polley and Barry Lee are up to this Saturday.

Practice starts at 0900 so I suppose you guys will have to be there by 0815. If you are staying for the oval races you will have to sign on twice, there will also be a short briefing at lunch time.

Thank you to everyone in orange for their help today. Hope you all enjoyed the variety, and we finished by 5.30 after running 28 races. The stock rods just won the challenge but it was very close, the rallycrossers are getting better at this oval stuff.
