Yep

got our entry in early, we're car 9. Though the lack of time is beginning to worry us, as the car is very definitely not finished... (long story inolving the car we were going to be doing it in getting a little bit written off... ooops)

Quick question for you though, as we now have a Nova Sri too, how did you mount the spot lights, as we have looked high and low for some brackets, but have had no luck. Plan at the moment is to make some from scratch, but if you have any hints at all, that'd be great.

Cheers!

Good luck Roy, what's your expection, going for a win or something more modest?

Is there any information about the stages that potential speccys can access? Wouldn't mind having a long weekend then.

Not cheap - £1150!!

But this is for 3 full days of competition with 42 tests on a whole list of RAC classic venues, including Olivers Mount Circuit, Croft, Dalby & Kielder forests, Great Orme at Llandudno, Eppynt etc. etc.

Can't wait!!

Roy

P.S. The car owes us the princely sum of £800!!

RM -

Not allowed to call them stages as this is officially a Road Rally. But most of the tests are "selectifs" - i.e. fastest wins! Only 1400 cc cars allowed, so everyone in with a shout!

Has he entered yet - he wasn't on the last entry list I saw, but was threatening to put in a late entry.

Should liven up proceedings!!

lots of moments guaranteed then!!

Is the car caged, comp seats etc.

Will you get any night stages?

PS Sorry for all the questions, but it sounds like the kind off thing I would love to do.

RM -

Yes, we have a 6-point cage, but have kept standard seats. The last RAC Rally I did using super-duper Corbeau comp. seats, my *rse ached for a month!!

Night sections - yes, e.g.through Kielder!!

Fun, fun, fun... ;p

Check out http://www.siteset.co.uk/endurance/extra1.html for more info.

Cheers,

We're ready to rumble!! We've been using the car on the road for a couple of months and used an autocross for a shakedown - no problems!

Did a photo shoot for Track & Race Cars this morning and we're keeping a diary of the event for the mag. Watch out for the article after Xmas.

Shame that Flying Flynn didn't get an entry - the event will be much quieter without him.

Really looking forward to it - pleased to see that the weather is predicted to be pretty cr*p.

Check out the schedule on

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Here's the beast(!) on a shakedown Autocross recently.

Hope she performs as well on the event - a few more miles than an Autocross though!!

I'll report back after next weekend.

Cheers,

Roy

We finished!! A few dramas, the main one being the front strut turret parting company with the inner wing on the first day! Fortunately the event has a travelling support/service crew, who managed to do a brilliant bodge-up fix (with a few bits of scrap steel and a gas welder) and we were able to carry on. We did miss our dinner at the end of the day!

The Nova was pretty much on the pace, but a maximum time on the Olivers Mount test in Scarborough, when we went the wrong side of a cone(!!), and getting lost on the last test of day 3 left us with a bundle of penalties.

The tests in the forests were absolutely fanbloodytastic, made the whole event worthwhile.

Finished 44th overall - totally knackered, but very happy.
