Wlcome to ten-tenths. The last ever (FIA) F3000 race could well have had the highest top speed (?).
Let's try the single seater forum... |

Id guess F3000 cars were hitting 195-200mph - I remember the Nordic Racing forums Chris Mower said the cars were hitting around 200mph at the old Hockenheim circiut with the old Lola b99/50, and Monza is just about as fast as Hockenheim I think. Next year though id say anything up to 210mph, the cars will be getting about a 150bhp increase power wise.

Don't know about the International F3000, but the Euro F3000 cars were doing 285-290 kph in race trim (180mph)

Liuzzi fastest lap was 209.018 kph so I guess this is an average.
Then I think you could say he might have been around 300kph sometimes Last edited by DanFlag; 2 Nov 2004 at 00:46. |

The old Lola b99/50 has a higher top speend than this years Lola. This years Lola terminal velocity is 286km/h, gear it any higher and the car wont accelerate unless in a slip stream. This because the teams are not allowed to remove the top flap of the rear wing like the old cars. But lap times are still better due to later breaking, higher cornering speeds and grippy tires.
