Favorite GTS/GT2 Le Mans Car!?
I was just wondering what everyone's favorite GTS/GT2 car was from Le Mans? For me, it would have to be the 2000 Team Oreca Chrysler Vipers that sported that beautiful red paint striped white !! How about your favorite?

hmmm tough question... i would probably have to say the 2004 Corvette C5-R that beat the Prodrive Ferraris on outright pace. just a beautiful sounding and looking car.

For me it would of course be the factory entered Saleen S7R that ran in 2001 and decimated everyone in the class slamming in a 3:52. That car looked fantastic and Ollie Gavin got the best out of it.

i would say the 2003 Prodrive/Care 550s that beat the Corvettes. For very similar reasons as tblincoe mentions, just a beautiful sounding and looking pair of cars.

the 2003 Care 550s would definitely get my vote for second place. i loved watching those cars go at it with the vettes in 2003. i still can't get the image of the four cars from the two teams split in tandem, nose-to-tail, going under the arch at mont tremblant... just a beautiful mix of sights and sounds.

The GTS ferrari 550 maranello, no doubt. Gorgeous in red, but RafanelliĀ“s ALMS Olive garden one best for me.

The Oreca Viper in red with the white stripes and the Prodrive 550. I respect the Corvette and what it's achieved, but it just lacks that certain something for me, though I'm not sure what that is!

Difficult to answer, but I'll say the 2002 Oreca Viper GTS-R in the blue Playstation paint. Just gorgeous...

For me the 2000 Vipers in red and white were the business, hanging onto their crown from the Corvettes, a classic year in GTS. |

Marcos LM600 was my favourite, both for its aggresive looks and its deep V8 noise.

The Marcos was lovely - I only saw it in the British GT series, but what a rumble!

hm. this is a difficult one for me. as i rooted for the vipers then the saleen then the ferraris. the viper engine doesn't sound as nice as the thundering saleen or the screaming ferrari. the prodrive ferrari with it's swoopy shape looks so elegant and graceful. the saleen looking like it's ready to pounce, but i'd still root for the viper with it's in your face styling and i rule the road look. so it has to be the the 2003 larbre viper GTSR in the spa 24 hours paint job

I liked Porsche GT2 who looked more "racing" than GT3 in my opinion, and Marcos (it's a shame they are no more Marcos at LM).
Now I like Corvette, Ferrari 575 and Saleen. |

kdr and his PPOFs again .
I've loved all the GTS cars I've seen, even the sad little Lambos. 2001 would have been much different were it not for the rain, eh Saleen? Being a Canuck, though, I've got to go with Ron's ride. Plus I get to see a lot of C5s on the road, and they look right, too. You don't see many S7s or even 550s out there... |

I also like GTS/GT2 cars in general but for sure Saleen is my favorite. The 2001 factory car was so nice, I got an 1:10 RC car in those colors. I also liked the blue white Konrad car.

Speaking just of the look, my favorite is the 1999 mobil 1 Viper,
Such an original painting for the performance this is the winning 550 maranello For the sound, the best one I have ever listen was the Bugatti EB 110. this 4 turbo V12 had such a pure sound ! The vette need to improve is decoration Last edited by pounetbf; 4 Nov 2004 at 11:30. |

GT2's got to be the Marcos 1995, Le Mans version. Looked great in that metallic Blue Computacenter livery and nothing shakes the ground like the Chevy engine in a Marcos, not even the Corvettes.
Before GT1 went mental, I loved the F40s, but the long tailed Mclaren F1 GTR in works BMW or Gulf colours takes some beating. Cheers. |
