is it legal to use electronic ignition on a classic ff1600

Don't know about classic, but you can use an electonic ignition in FF1600 'current' but it must trigger from the distributer (no mappable ecus, etc)

Don't know about Classic FF UK but according to FIA Appendix K it's illegal in Kat G,H and I. ie before 1982. Henrik |

As stated above, electronic ignition (Lumentition, Motorcraft, etc) is allowed in Classic FF, provided that it in not a 'mapped' system. See the Ford FF1600 technical regs for more detail.
