More early changes
I have heard today through the grapevine that a certain driver will not be suiting up at the Eastern Creek round. He is not resigning with this team as expected but is rumoured to be driving for the current championship leading team in the second series whatever it may be called next year. He was due to test today with his current team but is noticeable by his absence.

I didn't think Luff could go back to the Konica (or whatever it will be called) next season as he is placed too high. Don't you have to be 25th or lower.

thats a new one to me Tizzo.
i believe you may be referring to actually teams running either series it doesnt actually apply to drivers does it ? I mean Ambrose could buy his own car and run konica next year if he could get a level whatever licence is required ? or i could be completely wrong again a shame if Luff doesnt drive at the creek , i think this guy has huge potential and I hope he can land somewhere on his feet and do a top job in 05 |

Couldn't he get special dispensation though? I mean come on, to deny him from making a living has to contrevene some United Nations laws or something. It is not as if he has one the last five main series Championships or anything..........

Presumably with an eye on 2005 enduro spaces, another view needs to be taken to get a driver with the right speed and recent experience to fill the slot. It would be interesting to see how an AU will stack up against 888-assisted BAs in the V8Lites series anyway... |

i agree with you GTR.
also going back to what dirttrack said, wasn't Canto originally who people thought would "suit up" for EC while we were waiting for an announcement about max? wouldn't be surprised if he didn't re-sign with 888, i wouldn't hold out that long with a team in hope that ONE day i might get a full-time drive. dean deserves a drive, maybe SBR have sense enough to pick him up in the development series? as for luff, it all depends on this weekend doesn't it, that's if he's racing at all. personally i don't think he'd jeopardise his season in the main series to just not race at all. but considering the games tricky dickie likes to play, and has played this year, anything's possible! i hope luff gets the chance to show dick what he's missing out on by not re-siging him next year. |

Mr Luff is moving to PCR's Konica operation, as dirttrack crypticly alludes to....
.. and will enjoy sharing a car with either Marcos or Rusty come Sandown/Bathurst... plus presumably working on ride car duties when the 3 seater gets pressed into service... |

Whispers suggests its as good as done...
Perhaps... and I am only thinking aloud here... the "shared" results with Jr in the #17 car do not count in terms of the the driver's franchise slot position... ... thats not the strict wording of the rule for 2004 (2005 is not around yet...) but you just never know.. |

Maybe Dean Canto is free on the weekend to help Dickie out by piloting #18 at Eastern Creek.
I'd like to see that! |

Arent WPS going to be 1-2 in each race this weekend?
Their latest press release would have you think so... certainly not something you would expect from a team running 30th and goodness-knows-where in the championship |
