USAC new style SilverCrown

well the series really gets better the more you look at them from midget's to Silver Crown Cars...
i was at the PRI (performance racing industry)show in indianapolis last week and saw the unvaeiling of the new 2006 USAC Silver Crown Chassis-
wow- it is no longer a strecthed sprint car, or a strecthed midget with a big motor, it is a long almost Watson esque roadster (with the roll cage protruding above and the driver more upright.)
it has the front "bumpers" encased in body work! so it looks like a wing type nose, the side "nerfing" bars are encased as well lending it to a more clean and purposeful look, also the components from existing Silvercrowns can be used to build it (save chassis itslef) and it has Gasp! 2 speed gear box, a launch gear and a top gear, as these are now rated for 1.5 and 2.0 mile tracks!
USAC is really getting bold here as i feel it is encrouching a bit into IRL land, and IRL may indeed falter as Champs may and USAC will be the Vision TG really wanted to keep. i spoke with a Riley engineeer (of formerly Riley and Scott) and the car generates ZERO lift at speed- which if you see these boxes on wheel you could hardly believe it.
Great effort and maybe this will bring USAC back into some prestige (more than the single events like Knoxville- or eldora, and turkey nights...chilibowl- or is this WoO?) rather than a training ground...
Tough to say, i feel USAC is a strong as ever, and this certainly will help
too bad no pics yet and nothing on the website
