If a mod deletes a post, is it not considered as good etiquette to at least notify you and/or explain their decision by u2u?

Depends on the context and content of the post. I assume you're referring to the extremely bad taste post of yours from Saturday night which was deleted.

perhaps there is a second strata of forums that fall short of here, bearing in mind i have seen that quip (dare I say it joke) on several other well subscribed forums
 knowing the lengths that I have gone to as an individual and through the family company to suuport the relief efforts, I would judge that I do have feelings. Humbly apologise to any whose feeling I may have hurt... |

I trust the troll who unleashed them has been banned with immediate and permanent effect? If not why not!
