Race Director price up by 50%

Thirty bucks is still not a bad price to pay for the entire season, but let's hope they worked out all the glitches from last year. Link

In a way though, a lot more countries have better deals and plans for the up and comming season, perhaps this is the reason why the price inceased, so CC don't lose less money!??

Hey Marcus,

Since it's thirty American dollars we are talking about here, it will cost you Aussies:

30.00 US Dollar = 38.95092 Australian Dollar
30.00 Australian Dollar (AUD) = 23.10600 US Dollar (USD)

And it will cost us Canadians:

30.00 US Dollar = 37.49100 Canadian Dollar
30.00 Canadian Dollar (CAD) = 24.00576 US Dollar (USD)

I figured all of this out by myself with the help of my little friend here > LINK

Cheers,
Dov

They should refund everyone for the abysmal attempt last year. They've got some brass ones to up the price......

No problems for me. I thought it was a great service. I'll be re-upping!

I'm re-upping too. Considering that TSN puts the races on at all hours of the day and starts on the 15th lap or whatever, I am very glad to have an on-time, on target race director on demand. $40 Canadian is way cheaper than I pay for my broadband per month.

I'll pay the extra money, I didn't have any problems with it last year. Now I have a laptop and wireless connection, so I can watch it on TV, and have the extra camera views out there with me. My cable connection is fast enough, that I found that I could watch most if not all of the camera views at the same time. With a little searching on the net, I found a program that recorded live streaming video, so I have full races of onboard camera shots recorded on my HD from last year. Good stuff.

I have a question for those of you who were subscribers to RaceDirector last year...

How long does it take them to "archive" the events?

In other words, if a race started at 4PM but I didn't get home from work until midnight, could I sit down and watch it? Or would I need to wait a few days until they made it available in archives?

Also, when watching an archived race, are all camera/radio options still available?

Thanks.

Another question about RaceDirector, what's the resolution of the streaming video like? Is it going to look like **** on full-screen on a lap-top?

Ok to answer macdaddy's question , if I remember correctly it was instant but dont quote me on that (for archiving that is)

and as for radio and camera options , i dont beleive so but then again I havent tried them

will get back to you on that

and EGG I have no ideas about resolution , its looks pretty decent on 17" screen but cant comment on a lap top.

there see i was totally unhelpfull on this subject wasnt I ?

EGG,
I don't remember the resolution(its on my desktop PC at home), but on my Desktop and my laptop, it loos pretty good full screen, its not 720x480 DVD resolution or anything, but it looks pretty good while it streams full screen on my computers. I have several streams saved from last years races of onboard camer a shots from several races. I will for sure subscribe to race director this year again. There is no buffering or anything every 30 seconds. Once its loads up it streams fine, even over my wireless laptop connection. Its pretty cool watching the onboards after the race is over. When I watch the race on TV, I look for cool passes or whateve and go and rewatch them on the onboard camera views that they DIDN'T show on TV...sorry if I am incoherent, but I am on my laptop at a bar on Friday nigfht, and I've downed a few beers.

Are there commercial breaks on Race Director? I'm assuming not, perhaps it's a silly question but I thought I'd throw it out anyway.

Ok Im viewing the mexico race from last year right now and there doesnt seem to be any options available in regards to camera angles or radio stuff.

so i would say they simply just archive a TV program and its only the Live stuff that have those options
