How do the budgets compare from all the F3 series? i presume the euroseries budgets are the highest but does anyone know the figures for all the F3 championships?

Euroseries is probably the highest because of all the travel costs, hotels, etc.

nah, more to do with the fact people will pay to be associated with a series that's supported by manufacturers i'd have thought. you're making the fundamental mistake of assuming motorsport's honest...

Spanish F3, with the 2005 Dallara, is between 250,000 and 350,000 euros, depending on the team. But that includes many days of testing (more than twice the km than in Euroseries) and a Toyota F1 test drive if you win the championahip. Most teams include the hotel, meals, race incriptions and even race suits in the price. All you have to do is show up with yout helmet, everything else is taken care of. But then again, I imagine all teams in all championships do that.

Asian F3 is pretty cheap. According Juha Roiha you need
78 000 US$ F398 108 000 US$ F301/F302 180 000 US$ F304 +hotels and flights ofcourse. But it's cheap to live in Asia for European... It's not necessary to have a new car because rules allow older models run lighter. Last season there were 4 Australians, 1 Irish, 2 Brits, 10 Philippinos, 2 Japanese, 3 Indonesian and 3 Chinese racers driving for 9 teams and 16 cars. Cars were 1 302, 8 301 and 7 398. This season there will be atleast one more 301 and 4 304. ThreeBond is a new team series. 2004 Champion is Christian Jones, son of Alan Jones. 2005 calender conteins six weekends and 12 starts. 2 x Batangas Racing Circuit, 2 x Zhuhai International Racing Circuit and 2x Sirkuit Sentul. If only! Do you think the Spanish F3 way of doing things only works in Spain? Should British F3 follow the same path? |

I've got a strange kind of interest for races in places and country's that are not well known under the motorsport fans. Race like the six hours of Dakar, the Polish GT Championship and races in Trinidad&Tobago |

Aust. F3 teams have similar arrangements for about EUR200K in a F304. And those guys have to travel more than any other F3 championship.
Albeit without the F1 test drive, of course. |

Eur200k? Thats $A300k, thats a 2 car budget for Aussie F3. Maybe you need to spend less on data logging.

The Spanish F3 is cheaper because of the engine rules, we have cheaper engine rebuits, so that makes the year budget a lot cheaper, I see that as the only reason for being cheaper. The rest is the same as in any other top F3 Championship, Engineers, data loging, full time mechanics, new tires every time out, tests, etc. Thre are cheaperc hampionships, but none with a full grid with all competitive cars. The biggest advantage is the incredible price that we have now, the F1 test is incredible.

I also want to add that comparing budgets without all the facts is not very useful! You need to know a lot more... Like number of test days (lenght of testing), the amount of tyres included, how many engine rebuilds is included, who pays if an engine blows up (and it's not the fault of the driver) and same goes for the box, is Insurance included and whats the insurance excess and how much does it cover. How does the teams charge for spares etc etc etc... |

Of course all that is a very relevant data to compare numbers, but a fact is that the engine cost per seasson in Spanish F3 is a LOT cheaper than for example in england, the tyres about the same, the salaries about the same or cheaper, the living cost cheaper, and the dallara parts excatly the same... the result is that is cheaper. Thre is nothing worng or good about it, is just a diffrent rule about the engines. The way the Scollarship class in england is the same way. Why do you think is that? I think that they are going "the Spanish way" with cheap engines and good price. but up to now Spain is still cheaper. One good question is to have a 225 HP engine, why should we spend so much money? every car make has a of the shelf engine with 225 HP, so why all those fortunes in engines? the answer to that is the Spanish rules to F3.
