adrian sutil...
i'd got the impression last year that he was about as competant as a granny blindfolded on a tricycle, but testing times seem to show another story. is that just the asm factor, or is he a good example of the real difference in team levels of ability as much as anything?
does anyone have any opinions? evidence? Last edited by bella; 3 Mar 2005 at 22:31. Reason: perfecting derogatory comments, naturally |

He did well when he was pitched into ASM for the final rounds last year, certainly.

Maybe he was a good driver in a poor team to start with though - very difficult to tell!
The answer is out there somewhere, probably. |

Are there any euroseries testing times floating around anywhere?

He took a pole (in the wet admittedly) at Adria last year and performed ok-ish with Kolles who were probably the weakest of the Mercedes teams, rpior to that he competed in the Austrian and Swiss Formula Ford championships and FBMW, obviously the first two not being strong and most Swiss series being basicaly club championships running races in France and Austria. I don' think he's a world beater but he's doing well enough, but he has gone into one of the strongest teams in the championship so he should do better than before. However, there's awlays going to be an element that people will say it's down to the team if he does well and if he struggles say eh shouldn't realy have the seat and just bought it....time will tell I guess.

The only reason the took pole in Adria was the drying track, same again with pole at Hockenheim at the last round with ASM. Having said that IMO an average driver gone from a bad team to an excellent team.
