Agreed. Lots of chopping and changing. I just hope it's close and exciting.

Now let's hear what they've all got to say...

What it tells me is its going top be very very close. Id expect the Renaults to be very quick tomorow as well....and MS proved that Ferrari arent there to make up the no.s. I still think Mac have the edge and need to make hay while Ferrari await their new car.

What surprised me is the amount of times the drivers went wide on corners...
Rubens and JPm twice. Ralf Michael and Giancarlo once each and the Jordon had countless no. of spins.... i wonder if the new aero rules require drivers to adjust the line and speed they take through each corner...

Limitation on tyres for weekend means the tyres are very hard & less grippy this year?

The guys who went wide were getting lots of understeer with the raised front wing?

They didn't show the first practise on TV, did anyone lose an engine?

Mr. Mosley is not to blame. The tyre and aerodynamic rules were agreed unanimously by the teams, and the new engine rules were agreed to by most of the teams.

It is interesting to see the Renaults with that 3/4 k in hand....whether or not that is outright advantage, or whether they are just pushing it more than other teams is anyone's guess (or, at least, I do not have a means of knowing).

The session in general, it is certainly looking interesting. I'm glad to see Nick up there, and also that the Ferraris finished in the regions that seems sensible - although, perhaps Michael falttering a bit.

In the end, though, it is hard to be able to make much of any of it. Mclaren with that third car, what an asset that is going to be for them. I still wonder, as I did last year, whether Ron tried to ensure that they would finish the year appropriately so that they would get the 3rd car this year. Who knows.

Certainly, qualy tomorrow will be very interesting to see.

Id think that the others were conserving their engines except for De la Rosa... infact we probably wont see the true potential of the cars till qually

The Mac's look very very good....

Fast times - just under a second away from last years pole time - certainly not the 3 secs or so a lap slower the FIA were expecting from the new regs.

Shame it looks like being wet for the low fuel Q runs tomorrow.

Still, disappointing to see JV down in 16th when Massa was up in the top six.

Isn't there a list of aggregate times, like overall Friday times?? If they did that, Liuzzi would be 4th ahead of Schu!!!

I wouldn't worry to much about it, there is a large gap in times between a lot of team mates in both sessions.

I'm still positive we won't know the true speed of anybody until after the race.

I don't know what you are all getting excited about, the whole lot has been a load of rubbish. Its not motor racing it's conservation. The whole F1 organisation should go and join Greenpeace.

Its been that boring it put me to sleep. Hurry up to the end of F1 as we know it, and lets back to motor racing!

I've been an avid F1 fan for 25 years but enough is enough. Instead of turning the TV on on Sunday I think I might go and watch the local BMX kids race their bikes.

Why did you join an f1-forum if you're so put off by the whole sport and dont want to watch it anymore?

Its just the first day of the season....be optamistic and welcome to the forums...

It was fun to watch and I'm guardedly optimistic about Heidfeld's pace. However, as has been said above, we'll have no idea of relative until the race is run and in the record books.
