RSS Croft Predictions.

We've got an entry list so how about some predictions?

Division 1

Quite a disappointing entry for the top class but good to see some new faces out there.

Carnegie - Won at Mondello and should win here too.
Mundy - Been quick but needs to stay consistent - could do it here?
Evans - Astra seemed to go well on its debut.

Random factor - Jokinen in the 206, how quick will he be?

Division 1A

New class, new cars.

Gass - Purely based on the assumption that the Saxo is better than the corsa and 106.

Si - It'll be interesting to see how well the Metro hangs onto them - I'm guessing that it's lighter than they'll be?

Super National

This looks to be a very comptetive field - plenty of potential winners out for this one

Bellerby - If the car's sorted out.
Wheatley - Nippy Metro always goes well.
Proctor - That Lotus is looking very rapid this year.

Junior

A big entry for the Juniors should give some tight racing.

Orr - On a roll this year.
Simpson (Ashley) - Quick so far.
Hopkins -

Stock Hatch

Lots of cars, lots of lunatics

Godfrey - Consistently a front runner, should be there or thereabouts.
Si Horton - Metro looked quick at Lydden when it was pointing the right way.
Rich Horton - I don't want to start any fights by favouring one brother over the other! (So I'll 'doom' them both instead )

Minicross

A sizeable horde of Minis, should be good for a bit of Mayhem, not too sure on form for this one as quite a few drivers seem to be missing (I think you've got a reasonable excuse though Scot!)

Danny Budd/Ralph Budd - Never seem to be far apart on the track and never far from the front.

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Bert, with regards div 1a, I just want to see how close a stock is to one of these car, so if i can "hang with them" i will be very happy & suprised, but u never know.
And yes mine is lighter by about 80-90kg (before you add the driver )

Prediction time
Division 1

Carnegie - The biggest name in the class
Best of the rest will be Mundy I think. Seems to have stepped up the pace this year so far.

Division 1A

Gass - Seemed to be on the money at mondello

Super National

This looks to be a very comptetive field - plenty of potential winners out for this one

Bellerby - Local favourite
Wheatley & Proctor will be pushing every inch of the way

Junior

Simpson (Ashley) - Seems very quick

Stock Hatch

Godfrey - I'm a realist
Behind him it's going to be very close scrap.

Minicross

I'm not an expert on the drivers in this class if i'm honest, but danny and ralph are the well known names.

Don't know if it's any help Si but I saw Gass done a 2.57mins in the Final. Most of the stock hatches in the finals were around ten second slower than that with the exception of Murray who finished with a 2.58!!

Carnegie
Evans

Proctor
Wheatley

Gass

Godfrey

Infamous ''Stockhatch" murray motorsport 205's seem to be as quick as the modified cars which have 150 bhp :P or 210 in gass's case bah! *hint hint*

Bert Mk2

Thanks for giving me a decent excuse. I already have another car and should be back out by Holland.

I think for the first meeting you normally go with what you know.
So I think it will go something like

Division 1

Dermot Carnegie (but it will be interesting to see how the new cars of Chris Evans and Steve Hill run) Steve looked quick at the test day.

Division 1A

Paul Wakeling (he also got quicker as the day went on) plus his dad looks after my car !!

Super National

Dave Bellerby
Des Wheatley
Nobody's mentioned Mike Turpin (he's always up there)

Stock Hatch

Julian Godfrey
Either of the Horton's
Steve Heppenstall

Minicross

I go with Danny Budd but watch out for Ed Collett and John Thacker. These two are definately getting quicker.
Others worth a watch are Dan Balster (Allrounders runner-up) and the bright Orange Mini of Phil Sharpe.

Junior

Kyle Orr
Andrew Jordan
I also agree to look out for Ash Simpson (he's been around a couple of years now and this is his last chance at this level)

King Arthur should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
just noticed that Jokinen (the only overseas supercar) is also entered in the French ERC round. Would hate to trvel 500+ miles and find it is a uk only field. That is not what the SS promised.

Anybody know exactly who is going to be there.
