The best tyres for this race?

Will the Michelins have the upper hand again here, or will Brigestone be a lot stronger?

I used to consider this one of Brigestones stronger tracks, but, considering the advantage the Michelins have over Brigestone on the hot, dry tracks, with this race looking like a hot one as well going off some of temperatures being flashed around, it seems Michelin will have the advantage, but that said, the Ferrari's are well up there, with MS being 2nd in second free practise. So who will have the tyre advantage here and can Ferrari continue the form they are showing here currently and maybe go on to record their first win of 2005?

Also, I find Mr. Allen a bit more bearable to listen to nowadays this season, he seems to have cut the start antics a bit and seems a bit more insightful. Also doesn't seem to be using the absurd adjectives - like duked, or snorter as much this season. Have ITV been reading the comments on Allen on this site over the winter and told him to improve?

It could be a tricky one. Michelin generally, but that is difficult to say as only one top team is on Bridgestone.

It may be more who can get their tyres working. Or harder or softer compounds. In Monaco. McLaren ran their softer option and Renault their harder option - and look what happened there.

The temperatures may be hot again (unusual for Nurburgring) and that could be good for Michelin. Or perhaps some Michelin teams.

I don't think you can really talk in terms of tyre companies at the moment - you've got the Michelin compounds and then Ferrari. The Bridgestone problems seem more fundamental than whether the track suits them or not. And then the Michelin teams all work their tyres so differently it's hard to guess.
