Should 888 go to Holden or Stay with Ford?

Should Triple 8 race engineering Australia go from Ford and follow it's parent to the GM cars (Holden in other words) or stay with Ford? Reasons why?

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Why should and would they go to the dark side, they are final finding the feet with the BA and Lowdnesy & Campbell Little are starting to jell, so again I ask why would they.

Why would you want to leave now, just as their cars are on the money.

Should 888 UK switch from Vauxhall to Ford?

888 Receive a lot of ford funding, they wouldn't receive anywhere near the amount from Holden as holden has it's #1 team whereas ford spread their money around more teams.

Because there was no Holden teams that wanted triple 8 on board, so that is why they are with Team Betta Electrical.

Here are a few reason why Dynamik, Tasman and PMM that have no Triple 8 sponsorship. Triple 8 wanted go to the V8 Supercar's with a 2 car team, so that would PMM and Tasman (or Lansvale Smash repairs racing, the team was called that in 03) out. While Team Dynamik already had enough sponsorship on their hands and 03 was their start year.

LRT still had 2 franchises... and dynamik had almost no sponsoring at all at the start of the year.

And you know this because....???????

This is a pointless topic...you may as well ask if HRT should run Fords. Please don't ask, by the way.

By way of contrast - in the 90's the TWR was working for Holden in Australia, and Volvo (Ford) in the UK. It wasn't an issue for them. Are you saying HRT should shift to Ford?

Prodrive works for both GM and Ford. Subaru (GM) in WRC, Aston Martin (Ford) in GT and Ford Australia here, plus their involvement in BAR-Honda in Formula One. In the interests of balance should Ford Performance Racing be developing Chryslers?

This issue came up when the team was formed. Everyone within the team said at the time it would be decided on its merits and Triple 8's alignment in Europe meant nothing. It was a non-issue then, and remains so today.

I would think that the other reason was that T8 bought a going concern - a turn-key operation that was using Ford-appearing cars, rather than Holden-appearing cars. It wouldn't make a great deal of sense to then go and toss out all the information that the team had gathered (as Briggs Motorsport) would it?

Greg, T8 can drive anything they want in the Fantasy Championship - at the moment, in what we like to call the Real World, they are driving Fords, for better or for worse.

Greg I know Moree is a small town, but are you that starved for attention?

It would if the red side had offered a cheque the size of the one offered by the blue side...

Kramer, I live in Warialda, not Moree. But Warialda is near in Moree. If any one wants info about Triple 8 not using Holden Commodores, go to http://www.tripleeight.co.uk and email them with the subject as: GM+Ford=? and they will tell you.

Doesn't Lowndes's contract with Ford expire at the end of the year? But Triple 8 have him secured for another year?

Holden should throw some dough into this theory, as a way of getting Lowndes back on board, without breaking anyones contracts!
