I hope it will be dry. I don't want to visit my first Grand Prix in rain.

For once I'm not going to doubt and dismiss the forecast of wet weather - you rarely get completely dry weekends at Spa. I hope qualifying is dry, as the grid becomes completely random under the one-lap system when the drivers have such a variety of conditions, but a wet, changeable race is always exciting and more challenging for the drivers.

Enjoy Spa Pingguest. I've been three times, the weather is very changeable there, so take good shoes, rain gear and a small digital camera if you have one.
Oh yeah! be prepared for a long walk around the track, (it's very undulating), the smell of pine needles, and go to the bottome of Eau Rouge and look both ways - it's awesome!! Have a great time. |

You can't have a race at Spa without rain! Well, you can, but it's not half as much fun is it?

I agree wholeheartedly with Boots.
Plus it might give a chance of Ferrari winning a race. |

I hope it does rain, I was praying for rain last year at Silverstone, despite some blackclouds overhead it didn't spit a drop...

I wasn't the first to start this weather thread for a change,so maybe our luck is in this time.Ferrari will stand a chance of winning a proper race and pingguest will get wet.

It should rain if only to see the current title candidates on the rain...

I don't think it did rain when I went to Spa for the GP which was...2000 or 2001 I think. Think it rained at parts on the Fri and Sat, though don't remember it affecting any of the F1 sessions.

2000 was a rain affected race. It was this that allowed for the situation to appear whereby Mika pulled off that memorable overtaking move on Michael.
You may well be thinking of 1999: that was a totally dry race, which made it remarkable. I do not remember any rain in 2002 in the race. I cannot comment on the other sessions for these events, for I simply cannot remember. There may be other examples that fit the bill, for these are just the ones that spring to my mind. |

For the record, Suze, in 2000 the start was somewhat wet, and in 2001 it rained during practice and quali if I recall correctly...

Well it certainly wasn't '99 I went...and if it rained in in '00 and '01 ir must have been '02 ...I did say I wasn't too sure when it was! I think it must have been '02 because it was holiday incorporated and can't think of anywhere else I went that year. And it definitely didn't rain! Don't remember too much about the race either to be honest - just that Ant Davidson was racing and Kimi nearly lost it on the first lap at Pouhon where I watched from.

Well, it's fun when it rains over there. And the track is awesome. Hopefully all competitors will race with no problems (aka engine changes). Hope we'll see a great race

I always feel there should be more races (of all forms of motorsport) run in the wet. It looks great, and invariably provides an interesting result.
Here's hoping it does rain (or is wet) during the race |
