Ritter out of FPR for Tasmania?

From Bob Jennings in the Sydney Morning Herald

http://www.smh.com.au/news/motorspor...720482647.html

"...In another interesting move in the Ford line-up, David Brabham has been enlisted to drive alongside Jason Bright in the Ford Performance Racing team for the Symmons Plains round of the supercar series on Sunday week."

Have I missed something????????

IF this is the case this is another team who has dropped a driver before years end, something we don't seem to have seen before.

Presumably FPR dont want their car crashed again

Was the Brabham piece on RPM poignant perhaps, with prodrive a big fan... maybe this is the clue to the #5 Ford next season.....

But wil probably see a lot more of in the future if the drivers don't shape up.

If you think about it though, nopw we are at the blunt end of the series, if a team has someone they don't believe is up to the job or simply can't hack it, this is the perfect opportunity to get someone else in the car to try them out under fire rather than when the series starts next year.

not looking good for one J.Richards if David is hanging around then - where will he end up now? staying at Tasman his only option?

Maybe David is filling the void while FPR await the New Zealander's arrival next year.

Given the Sandown and Bathurst performances, I would be surprised if Brabs is any closer to Bright than Ritter was.

Will certainly be a big step from some of the world's biggest events driving one of the world's best sportscars, to Symmons Plains, Tasmania in a car that's barely broken the top 15.

or perhaps a little 'incentive' to get Jason to make up his mind perhaps?
I think all the front runners will need to qualify as far up the grid, away from David, as possible. I'm sure he has achieved lots O/S but geez he bashes a lot of other cars around when he gets in one of 'ours' doesn't he?

then why are BOTH drivers looking to jump ship? But after having supported FPR for their first 2 years and then watching Bright still trying to dogpaddle as hard as he can to stay afloat, I'd agree that Tasman would be the better option - or how about Richards gets Roland on the phone?

Sorry to see a brillant driver gone. But it wasn't his fault for the bad year, I think FPR were neglecting car #5 due to the mechnaical failures

FPR are a joke of a team and are a deadset rabble. The best thing Craig Lowndes ever did was leave them to go to 888. Their cars are ****e, Bright was in the hunt for a championship this time last year and this year he's been nowhere near it.

I too supported this mob since their beginnings. The only reason I do now is because I like Ritter as a driver (cant come at not so)

I think that they are a bit of a laughing stock.........so much money and so much support but still cant get near the front

I realy dont think its their drivers....its their engines, chassis and suspensions that dont seem to be working

With the 'Failure to Produce a Racecar' (FPR) team looking to implode I can only reflect on Cameron McLean's first words to the team after he drove the FPR #5 at the Phillip Island test before the enduro's...

" ...that car is a piece of **it, the kid's a hero to get any time out of it let alone keep it on the track!" - referring to Ritter.

Why is Brabham in the car for Symmons and PI? Could it be that the word has got around that 'Failure' cars are a total disaster and the propeller heads that run 'Failure' won't take any input from the drivers therefore no-one in the know wanted the gig and there was every chance that as a Duddrive contracted driver Brabs has been told to do it and he already has a 'failure' driving suit! There is every chance Cameron McLean knocked the gig back!!!!!

CAT are looking for an out!

You could see Bright at Britek sooner than you think and with a big slice of the blue oval pennies that are currently going to Duddrive.

Silver your not alone there! There are also a lot of people at Ford, FPV and at 'Failure to Produce a Racecar' that like Ritter but this will be the third time he has been burnt by a Ford associated team DJR, (full of hollow promises), 00/Forbes (turned out to be a Titanic) and now FPR, (Failure to Produce a Racecar)'. I reckon Ritter should go to the Red's, in the main, a nicer class of racer than the blue!

I think that Ritter is a very under-rated driver. I hope that he is still in the main series next year, in a better car.

Wow.

What a disaster this FPR project is. I don't think even the GSR outfit would have been this bad!

I don't understand why there's such a disparity between the two cars and why 888 are LEAPS & BOUNDS ahead of Prodrive?

Belly13, as GRM's #1 Supporter, GRM would be a nice fit for Ritter! Can you put in a good word? He's been there before as an Enduro driver and aquitted himself well!
