GTL

Am I right in thinking this goes on sale in the UK tomorrow (today actually - I'm writing this at a sleepless 4.00 a.m.!)?

Nope - officially the 4th of November is the UK release date. If you haven't ordered it yet, try http://www.sendit.com - £17.99, and you should receive it tomorrow if you order early enough

Right, I've not really heard much about this game, is it going to be worth the money?

Yes. That is if you are a sim racing fan. If TOCA Race Driver is too much of a "sim" for you, it's not the right thing for you to get. It is very accurate in its physics and thus demanding for the casual punter and not worth it without a steering wheel.

It also is pretty power hungry, so you should have a decent machine. The AI is actually worth driving against, even though of course nothing beats online racing.

I can safely say that Pirenzo will detest the game, as it won't give him as much fun as arcade games like GT4, NFS Xuning/Lax Poweder or Toca Fake Drivers......

... not

LOL. The 'decent computer' bit probably rules me out, that and my wheel/pedals being 125 miles away right now. Sounds like just the ticket for me though
Will investigate tomorrow for sure.

Have we got period tracks for the cars they have (eg, 1970s Monza say), or do we have old cars on new circuits?

Real liveries/teams, or fictional?

Comes out in AUstralia on November 31.

The ladder is the case. It simulates the Fia GTC-TC, which is a modern racing series for vintage cars. Which also answers the second question: you get real liveries, but in the design they are driven today which need not necessarily still be the vintage livery.

Pirenzo: just noticed the GPL-avatar, should have looked more carefully. Yeah, you will love it.

I have no willpower whatsoever. I've just got back from purchasing a shiny new copy of GT Legends. I'll let you know how I get on.

We ran our first official SimRacing.org.uk fun races for GTL last night and had a blast.

There are a few bugs and wrinkles to be ironed out yet but they're working on a patch so let's hope they sort it out soonly.

Well, I saw it today, priced £30 in some places and £35 in others. I don't trust the postal delivery system in my halls of residence enough to buy it online so I won't be getting it just yet...

Well, I've had a go and done a couple of the cups. I must say I am impressed. I still only have the lower powered cars but I'm working on it.

I did have a test drive in the AC Cobra and all I can say is wow. So much fun throwing that thing around!

It is a VERY good game Naturally, I enjoy racing the Mini

My machine is pretty poor by today's standards. Only an Athlon 1700, 512mb memory, an onboard sound card, and a Radeon 9550, but it plays the game admirably, as long as you're not looking for eye candy.

I ordered from Amazon.de because I was impatient and couldn't wait. I have just unlocked the F275 - GTB/C Wow! The noise!

There are a few mugs and bugs online but once we get the leagues up and running I will be joining one!

I love this game!
