Interesting that he is so specific about Dan not going back.

I could see guys like Schekter, Enge, Manning trying for the seat as well. Heck or anyone else for that matter.

I would love it if Manning got the drive and beat the Wheldon Ganassi car to the Championship!

Is bryan still getting development parts rather than the latest equipment?

I would imagine that Bryan will still have the responsibilty of being the development driver -- but who better to explain the nuances of what's happening with the car when testing new parts than a consummate professional who's been racing for over 20 years and has excellent "driver to engineer" communication skills. Michael's not going to change a winning system.

Good point. It's rather odd how much Herta's development ability is mentioned, which leads me to believe that it must be true. Recall that back when it was just "Team Green" Dario was the Honda development driver. That may be part of the AGR advantage as well.

But why would Honda continue to fund Herta as a 'development driver' when a Honda car will always win next year?

Good thinking Ian, which makes me think he will be getting the same equipment as anyone next year. That implies that AGR are happy with his performance, which certainly implies that he hasn't had equal equipment thus far (if he had, his lack fo results relative to teh other guys would be unacceptable). Putting it all together, it makes a good season likely for Bryan.
