Hello People,

Found this on another forum. Am somewhat surprised with the information that was included. What do you think? Serious or fake? Anyone hear anything?

... back in autum 2005 it was reported on speedtv.com and motorsport.com that the "Eurointernational" team eyes partial Champ Car schedule in '06...

I have waited 10 years to return in the Series, and Eurointernational will be racing in Champ Car only for be a winning Team, with all in place, and remain in Champ Car for all 3 more years; not later than January 2006 the project will be completed and all details revealed to the media" confirmed Ferrari.

The Team has already all the equipment and organization in place for the Champ Car program including a new state of art racing facility in Indianapolis.
But I heard nothing more...

Back in September, Nunn was contemplating a return to Ganassi. So the racing certainly isn't out of his blood.

Eddie Jordan? Eddie Irvine? Mo Nunn is another possibility.

Worth adding that the nature of this reference implies that the team will only happen if they manage to find sponsorship.

The team that you are taking about is not owned by Cedric the Entertainer, they just get promoted by him (I think!). The team that yoou are taking about is actually HMV but they will now be known as CTE.

Last week AR1 linked this to this rumor:

01/19/06 AutoRacing1.com has learned that a possible new Champ Car team is in the works for 2006. We doubt it will come together at this late stage in time, but it involves a former driver and a UK/Africa businessman. We can give you one hint - the team initials would be MDR. We hear of a possible 2nd new team for 2006, but it is just in the embryonic stage so we do not give it much chance.

In a related rumor, we have now become aware of a number of possible new Champ Car team owners for 2007, one of which will make for some good press worldwide. The team would certainly come out of the box ready to win on Day 1. The owner would not be an American.

R for Racing presumably. It could be someone with the initials M D, or an M and a D. Does anyone know of any African-British businessmen who are known racing fans, or any ex-drivers who have stated an interest in forming a team?
