Menu signs for Opel
DTM --- March 20, 2001

The 37-year-old Swiss Alain Menu has signed for Euroteam and will drive one of their Opel Astra Coupé V8 in the DTM. The contract was signed only a few days ago and Menu has been having discussions with Opel ever since it was announced that Ford pulled out of the BTCC. Menu replaces Stefano Modena who drove for the team last year. Tomorrow (Wednesday) Menu will make his first test at Hockenheim in a 2000-spec Astra. Menu will receive his new car at the end of next week. Menu says he is very pleased with the new contract and that things are looking promising for the new season. Alain Menu started his Touring Car carrier in the DTM and now ten years later he returns to the German series.

Hmmm....i wonder is this is his future, or whether he will want to come back to the BTCC or ETCC in 2002 or beyond?
