Sure Jean
Martin was talking about Jenson Button qualifiying 20th with only Mazzacane and Marques behind him and then he said "and they couldn't drive a nail into a plank of wood" LOL ! Last edited by Billy_Hunt; 31 Mar 2001 at 21:50. |

You are right Billy - this was a bit naughty of Martin but it was one of those classic moments of comentary that will be remembered.
Martin was refering to the sorry position Jensen Button found himself in qualifying when he pointed out that the only drivers behind Jensen were Mazza & Marques who "couldn't drive a nail into a plank of wood" Hahaha! |

I have to disagree. In particular, Tarso Marques is not a bad driver by any means. Granted, not a future world champion, but I actually beleive he deserves to be on the grid. So ner!

There's some sour grapes here.
Marques, who apparently couldn't drive a nail into a plank of wood, was all over the back of Brundle at Argentina '96,, and the only way Martin could stop him getting past was to crash into him. So maybe Marques can't drive a nail into a plank of wood, but he can drive past Brundle, and Martin can certainly drive into Marques. |
