Ambrose Helped Out by Craig Gore
Slightly OT but it seems Team Australia are sponsoring our ex V8 star in the truck series.

Craig Gore.
Founder of Wright Patton Shakespeare (WPS), named after his heroes (or something like that). Owner of WPS/Orrcon Racing. Part-owner (I think) of Team Australia Champcar team. Has Team Australia cars in various openwheeler series such as Champcar Atlantics, Formula BMW. |

The more logical move to me... may be to place Mr Ambrose in one of the Team Australia ChampCars... Race wins would be possible by season's end

The Charlotte thing is amazing given the background in the last few days...
Mr Ambrose was not automatically cleared by NASCAR to race at Charlotte... and indeed it was reported that the driver was not totally confident he would get a start. Presumably the Thursday test was the clincher for convincing them that he was good to go... No mention of qualifying times anywhere... the P1 placing was 12th eventually, and P2 in 22nd... |

GTR Magic on the Truck Series website. I was watching it . He looked liked taking out Provisional pole till Erin Crocker and Mike Skinner set faster times. He is the fastest Ford his team mate is 29th.

from the web -
7. Lap 5 - Ambrose was pushed into the outside line and he lost grip, slamming into the turn four wall. Sprague spun to avoid. Sprague drove away but the right rear tire blew going into one and he spun again, doing some damage to the right rear quarter panel. |

Team Australia’s Marcos Ambrose has finished 26th in the eighth round of the NACSAR Craftsman Truck Series at the Dover International Speedway in Delaware today.
Ambrose again highlighted his potential in qualifying setting the fastest Rookie lap of 23.701 seconds, which was the 12th fastest time overalljust in front of Mark Martin. , Unfortunately, an unapproved adjustment during the impound period saw him drop to the rear of the grid. Ambrose overcame the hurdle of starting at the back of the grid, completing 196 laps and bringing his Team Australia/Aussie Vineyards Ford F-150 truck home in one piece. “Learning, learning, learning, that’s what this is all about,” said Ambrose. |
