Aus at the front, Spa in the middle and Suzuka at the end is the natural order of F1 and the universe.

It's only been the 'natural order' for 9 years out of 57. I see what you mean though, it's not really a surprise that Melbourne starts the season again, it was always expected that the sswitch was a circumstantial one-off.

numbers will be waaaay down...
link here This has to be one of the dumbest things i've heard in ages... V8 supercars going to channel 7 was a daft move in the first place, but now, saying the clash between the swimming championships (probably on channel 9?) and a round the following week in perth means a bit of a disaster for the gp. Numbers will be way down, thats for sure, especially in the lead up days, where usually the v8s pull in at least a bit of a crowd... Would love it if they could replace the v8 slot with a gp2 round though, we dont get to see or hear anything of that series down here, and so only hear the hype on hamilton, carrol, premat (and rosberg previously) etc on forums like this. Cant see it happening... so, if the v8s dont race, then they will have to fill it with what? historic monaros? kingswoods? commodore cup? an albert park triathlon? |

I think the crowd numbers are more likely to be effected by the world swimming championship than the V8s.

There is still the possibility of the Developement series running (despite the Ch10/Ch7 crossover, they just won't get shown on TV...)
But, a draw card is needed, something big, something new- DTM! (the other production car racing series using V8's) |

I actually thought the Bahrain opener was very good...
Mar 18 too late for opener, surely it'll be at the beginning of the month?? |
