I got a standard letter from Sara the other day saying that "A subsidised hot lunch is also available at a minimal cost" and asking me to return the slip below if I required lunch. Presumably all who have volunteered will also get this same letter and therefore a subsidised lunch?

I believe so. Sara has been advised that all who sent their names in via me have been 'volunteered' for a subsidised lunch so come hungry

Just a quick note to say many thanks to all the organizers of the training day at Mallory. A useful day where I learned a lot and also gained more confidence with dealing with incidents thanks to the very well designed practical exercises.
Looking forward to March 11th which is my 1st day on the bank this season. |

Sadly I missed today - girlfriend (fellow marshal Annette) took a shortcut to the bottom of the stairs by missing out the last step, so I got to practice a slightly different set of incident handling skills, then spent the morning in Derby Royal Infirmary A&E! She's fine, but annoyed at missing what would have been her first training day. Hope all went well today, looking forward to March 11th for the first day of the season.

Oh silly Annette! Give her my best and tell her I hope to see her soon. On a slightly different note, my sincere thanks to Wensleydale for the loan of his laptop when my own failed to run the CDs I'd hoped to use in my training session. And thanks to the staff in the Cafe for lunch - absolutely wonderful. In fact I think lunch outdid breakfast! I was a good girl and asked for a "small" helping - do they know the meaning of "small" in the Cafe at Mallory? |

Many Many thx to all involved. Both Jo and I got a lot from our sessions (including an unexpected insight into the workings of BARC, thx Dale).
I still don't want to Observe but we both feel that our Flagging will be greatly improved by what we learnt. |

My key new skill for the 2007 season will be to ALWAYS put the lights on when going downstairs for an early departure - no matter who else in the house I might wake up Annette |
